Business Support Officer - MACH

Job description

Redcar and Cleveland Council are seeking to recruit a full time Business Support Officer within the Early Help Coordinator’s Team in the Multi-agency Children’s Hub (MACH), to provide administrative and clerical support.

The MACH is an integrated single point of access across Redcar and Cleveland providing multi-agency triage and assessment of enquiries about children. Partners within the MACH share information, risk assess and make decisions to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and their families with the aim of providing the right support at the right time.

The MACH operates Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and 8.30am to 4.30pm on a Friday.  It is closed evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

As a Business Support Officer you will work as part of a small team who screen Early Help referrals, you will be responsible for answering the phone to initial calls, adding contacts into the children’s services case management system and supporting the administrative tasks of the service. You will work alongside co-located partners with whom the MACH has single point of contact. Co-located partners include Cleveland Police, Health Specilst Nurse, Education Safeguarding Lead, Early Help colleagues and Social Workers.

Tasks will include creating outcome letters for referrers, collating data onto spreadsheets and uploading documents. Full, on-the-job training of the systems will be provided, but the ideal candidate will already be IT literate in excel and word. Good communication skills, previous experience of business administration, customer services and/or working with children and families and using case management systems would also be desirable. Candidates should also hold an NVQ level 3 business administration.
