Job description
What you will do in your working day
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Runs the post desk and collects and delivers the DX and post
- Manages stationery stock
- Provides cover on reception at lunchtime and during holiday/sickness absence and possibly on a Thursday or Friday of each week
- Makes and receives phone calls
- Welcomes visitors and treats them in a professional manner
- Keeps the reception area and waiting room tidy and free from litter at all times
- Takes accurate messages and transcribes any messages from the answer phone each morning (passing these on promptly to the intended recipient)
- Takes certified copies of passports and utility bills from clients, wears formal office attire in line with the Receptionist’s dress code (dress allowance paid)
- Maintains and monitors file archiving databases and undertakes associated administration duties including arranging for files to be collected or retrieved from storage as required
- Undertakes general administration duties including faxing and photocopying (sometimes in large volumes and to distribute appropriately and in a timely manner)
- Undertakes some physical lifting
- May be asked to undertake some basic IT work, possibly some typing
- Runs errands in the town centre
- Provides refreshments when asked to do so
- Offers a “can do” and positive attitude to asking for work
- Archiving of files and deeds
Full training will be given in order to complete the above duties to the best of your ability. TWM Solicitors and Boom Training will provide ongoing guidance to help you with your apprenticeship studies.
The training you will be getting
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
- Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Business
- You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training
- You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks
- End Point Assessment (online)
- Occasional group classes with other learners
- Functional Skills Level 2 in maths & English if required
- Business Administrator Certificate from IFATE and City & Guilds
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Yes, following successful completion of the apprenticeship, and depending on their skill set, there is room to grow within the business.
