About the role 

• Managing our approach to Engagement Quality Control Review and hot review teams, undertaking reviews and providing live feedback to audit teams
• Supporting our audit teams through regulatory file inspections
• Actively supporting and contributing to relevant technical groups including NAO technical networks and a range of panels and boards
• Developing and delivering training for public sector auditors
• Responding to audit approach queries from auditors and providing ad hoc support for audit teams on complex issues
• Drafting responses to consultations on public sector audit matters
• Supporting the PS AQST director in delivering VFM consistency panels, reviews and challenge to audit teams and engagement leads

What are we looking for?

• Experience in Audit Quality or Audit Experience with a passion to develop in this area
• Good knowledge of the NAO Code of Audit Practice and how this is applied in local government and NHS sectors in England
• Good understanding of underlying International Standards on Auditing (UK)
• Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• A keen interest in developing our business and our people and contributing to our continuing growth in the public sector
• Relevant accounting qualification CPFA, ACA, ACCA, CA (or equivalent)
