Job description

We are collaborating with a leading global engineering firm in their search for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to lead a dedicated finance team. Salary of £60k-£70k + bonus + flexible working (1-2 days a week in the office) + managing a team + excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee a high-performing finance team, nurturing a culture of capability and motivation.
• Establish objectives, formulate development plans, provide coaching, and allocate tasks efficiently within the team.
• Supervise and manage month-end and year-end processes, ensuring precision and adherence to tight deadlines.
• Scrutinise and endorse non-contract specific repeatable journals for UK entities, including monthly accruals and prepayments, maintaining a robust control focus.
• Supply management information to the business unit on the performance of their balance sheets.
• Manage and coordinate VAT processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Uphold financial governance and control, aligning activities with Accounting Standards and the Group's accounting policies and manuals.
• Collaborate with other Finance Managers to standardise and optimise finance processes and controls across the business, with a particular emphasis on journal and Balance Sheet processes.

Requirements:

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in managing a finance team.
• Ability to interpret accounting principles for both non-technical and non-finance staff.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a global engineering or related industry.
• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process standardisation and optimisation.
