Job description
The Manager is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations within the care setting, including recruiting and managing staff, managing budgets, and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meet national care standards.
The aims of the association and connected with the residential accommodation, respite, day services, education, treatment, training, welfare of persons who have some form of cerebral palsy or similar disability.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the association meets the fundamental standards issued by the relevant bodies.
- To attend bimonthly Executive meetings and prepare reports.
- Chair the fund-raising committee.
- Complete annual returns and report to the charity commission.
- Update companies house records.
- Set, manage budgets.
- Prepare information as reports required for the annual audit.
- Take a visible leadership role.
- Recruit, train and supervise staff.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure health and safety compliance.
- Liaise with and maintain partnerships with other community organisations.
- Ensure regulatory activity, such as personal care and administration of medicines is delivered within regulations.
- Provide information, advice, and support to resident’s families.
- Ensure activities are organised for service users and actively promote their independence.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of the service users.
- Ensure the quality of care provided is consistent with current legislation.
- Liaise with local authorities as well as health professionals when required.
- Negotiate fees with Local Authorities and Health.
- Manage concerns and complaints.
- Contribute to daily care issues, including care planning and reviews.
- Support service users emotional and behavioural needs.
- Support the registered manager through inspections etc.
- Assess new referrals.
- Attend and chair staff meetings and attend residents’ meetings.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented.
- At all times present a satisfactory role model that residents and staff can identify with.
- To oversee, control and ordering of all supplies.
- Supervise the maintenance programme.
- Understanding of employment law to include grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Develop care programmes alongside Senior staff.
- Play a leading role in developing the organisation.
- Agree and propose salary increases with the Executive Council/ Public speaking where applicable.
- Payment of invoices.
- Ensure contracts of employment meet the requirements of current legislation.
- Ensure all staff are suitably trained and qualified.
- The post may include some weekend work and sleep-ins.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be delegated by the Executive Council from time to time.
