Job description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational Teacher of Science to join a supportive, committed and very successful department. This post is suitable for either an experienced teacher or an ECT seeking to start their career in a caring and supportive team with expertise in training and development. Part-time and flexible working requests may be accommodated, and a recruitment and retention payment may be available for an exceptional candidate.

Testbourne is a high performing school, with students achieving excellent results for Summer 2023. 74% achieved a ‘standard’ pass of grade 4 and above in English and Maths combined. Over 55% of students achieved a ‘strong’ pass in both English and Maths, with 15% of students achieving the top grades 9-7 in both of these subjects. An excellent total of 90 grade 9s were achieved by our year 11s across their subjects in 2023. 

Science achieved 76% grade 9-4 in at least two science qualifications, with 61% of students achieving Grade 9-5 in two sciences. 33 grade 9s were achieved by students across Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 2023, with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics achieving 72% grade 9-7 or higher.
