Veterinary Surgeon
Otter Vets, East Devon
Salary up to £65,000 DOE plus Benefits

We are looking for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Otter Vets.

You will be looking after a mixed caseload with duties including routine fertility visits, TB testing, day-to day farm visits, 1st opinion equine work, small animal consults and operating.

If your preference is for small animal or small animal/equine work, we would still really like to hear from you as we have flexibility to consider these roles.

Work Patterns

Work/life balance is important to us so our full-time vets typically work 4 days per week finishing at 6pm. We all work occasional Saturday mornings on a rota basis. On-call consists of one night per week plus 1:4 weekends.

Established history of over 70 years

Our practice has an established history of over 70 years, providing veterinary care to small animal, farm and equine clients in our local communities. We have two branches, one based in the Jurassic coastal town of Sidmouth and the other in the nearby market town of Ottery St Mary, Devon.

We participate in a variety of local charity events and local agricultural shows. We are proud of the 24-hour service we offer for the continuity of care for all our mixed veterinary work. Currently, plans are being worked on to re-organise our two premises which will facilitate further growth and development.

Our Location

Come and admire the beautiful Jurassic coastline and rolling East Devon countryside. We are within easy reach of Dartmoor and for those needing city attractions, Exeter is a 20 minute drive away.

Our Equipment

Digital x-ray facilities, haematology and biochemistry analysers, dental and anaesthetic machines at both surgery premises. In addition, a multi-parameter machine, separate small animal and bovine ultra-sound scanners.

Our Team

You will be joining a busy, sociable & supportive team of 4 full time and one part time Veterinary Surgeons and 4 Nurses who work across both sites plus our Admin/Reception team.

Out of work, we enjoy getting together for meals including a Christmas party and for team building.
