Job description

Axcis Education are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to support a mainstream primary school’s special education provision local to Tamworth to start as soon as possible. The school is in a great location and easily accessible via public transport.

The pupils in this school that are supported by their committed special education needs and disabilities (SEND) provision are involved in the classroom, in small groups, and on a 1:1 basis depending on the individual needs of the pupil.

What you need to apply:
• Valid enhanced DBS – or be willing to obtain one
• Minimum of 2 references from last 12 months
• Level 2 teaching assistant qualification
• Experiences supporting children with special education needs
• Experience in Makaton or PECs would be advantageous

Job Description:
• Working alongside the main teacher following lesson plans
• Be a positive mentor, providing impactful advice, guidance and direction
• Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of pupils to ensure progress towards their specific goals and targets
• Listening to, and assist pupils with reading, literacy and numeracy
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a supportive and encouraging atmosphere

Pay:
• From £87.04 to £95.04 per day – can vary depending on experience
Hours:
• Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm

This position is initially temporary however there is a chance for it to be extended depending on performance.
