Job description

We are looking for a self-motivated Business Support Assistant to support our small team with the coordination of complaints and correspondence handling across the Council, and to get involved in project support for the wider Companies,Compliance and Assurance service that our team sits within. A good understanding of Office 365 and previous experience of Firmstep would be helpful but training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of Sharepoint and Power BI would be an advantage.

To support the Companies, Compliance and Assurance Service in providing business and administrative support and intelligence. The main duties will sit within the Customer team but the post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade which will assist the Service in meeting its statutory duties across Cheshire West and Chester, or contribute to the post holder's personal development.

We are looking for a reliable person with administrative and business support experience, to support the team in coordinating complaints, correspondence and projects Council-wide and reporting on compliance with statutory and local deadlines. Excellent communication and up to date ICT skills are essential, with knowledge of Firmstep, Office 365, including SharePoint desirable. Experience of using Excel or Power BI to report on caseloads and compliance would be a bonus. We require a pro-active individual with a professional approach who is accurate and confidential and can work independently, managing their own workload when required and ensuring that all customer contact is triaged daily.

We are a small, friendly, and hard-working team who currently work primarily from home coordinating the Council’s corporate and statutory social care comments, compliments, complaints and correspondence and monitoring their compliance. The role may also involve taking customer complaints by telephone. Alongside our casework coordination we undertake various project and reporting work to support the wider Service and Directorate. You will be expected to liaise confidently with colleagues and senior managers across the Council.

The contractual work location for this role is The Portal, Ellesmere Port, however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
