About Our Client

My Client is one of the fastest growing News production companies in the UK. Recognised for it's brave and forthright coverage, it is quickly becoming a household name in the industry.

Job Description

Manage and supervise a small accounts team, work closely with Finance Business Analyst;

Ensure the Company's accounting records are accurate and timely with current focus on the General and Purchase Ledgers, tighten timing of monthly general ledger close to agreed targets;

Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly to the agreed timetable;

Raise sales invoices, maintain revenue register/records, deal with queries;

Oversee monthly payroll, Pensions deductions and process, and deal with associated reports and queries;

Prepare files for annual audit and be initial point of contact for audit queries;

Supervise purchase ledger, ensure invoices are in line with respective contracts, check coding, deal with invoice and payment queries, prepare payment runs;

Supervise processing of expenses (via Expensify) and company credit cards (via Pleo), prepare PSA reports;

Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and deal with VAT related matters;

Maintain Fixed Asset register and reconcile to G/L;

Exposure to Xero an advantage

Other tasks ad hoc

The Successful Applicant

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA);

Demonstrable experience of working at similar level within medium-sized organisation taking responsibility for accounting records, high level of proficiency with Xero would be desirable;

Proven experience of managing and developing a small team;

Thrives in fast moving environment with flexible attitude to grow as Company develops
