Job description

A Vacancy at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

The post holder will lead the development of healthcare support workers at the Trust. They will be the point of contact and information resource in relation to attracting candidates from the local community into roles and careers in healthcare. They will offer career advice and support for staff at bands 2-4 and provide supervisory monitoring and support to staff and apprentices on their apprenticeship learning journey.
• To monitor the development of HCSW whilst in clinical practice and to offer support and guidance to staff around their supervisory role for this staff group.
• Develop, monitor and review standards of practice as necessary and provide local feedback to clinical teams around the healthcare support worker experience and their contribution to care provision.
• Contribute to the Quality Assurance mechanisms of relevant bodies including Care quality commission, Nursing & Midwifery Council, Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and Approved Education institutions (AEIs)
• Participate quarterly in the ward accreditation audits
• Participate and contribute to the attraction of new HCW’s and school and college students, through attendance at career events as required
• In conjunction with senior nurses and other professionals develop and manage models for inter-professional learning opportunities within the Trust and its partner Organisations
• Develop and deliver education programmes for the development for Supervisors and Assessors to enable them to effectively undertake their roles
• Liaise with training providers and Subject matter Experts regarding the development and progress of HCSW learners in practice
• Lead on ensuring that the quality of the learning environment is audited on a regular basis using PAN London audit tools and ensures that the learning needs of the HCSW and HCSW apprentice are being met.
