The Opportunity
We are actively recruiting a Product Development Technician to be part of our dynamic E-Trade team to manage BAU and project activities. This role is working across QBE's UK SME E-Trade Property and Packaged and Motor business lines. This role manages the design, development and testing of e-trade products rules, rating, and data enrichment integrations across various distribution platforms including QBE's Fastflow Extranet. The successful candidate will also manage the error process to ensure all incidents are triaged, reported, pro-actively followed up and fixes applied according to SLAs in place.
Main responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with Underwriting, Pricing, Distribution, and Compliance teams as well as Acturis, other Software Houses and Brokers to design, develop and test e-trade products end to end, to ensure the specifications and data integration are accurate, fit for purpose and reflect QBE underwriting appetite.
- Project managing change/improvement requests.
- Attending and actively contributing to internal and external meetings, as required, to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practice.
- Working collaboratively with and managing third party suppliers to"deliver product/services to agreed standards and within set timeframe.
- Applying testing skills and techniques across all platforms, from test planning, writing test packs, test execution to management of testing partner.
- Managing and contributing to the error process, escalating further as necessary.
- Identifying and self-reporting Compliance risks and issues.
Essential Experience - Strong insurance experience within product development or systems
- An understanding of and/or practical experience using e-trade systems, specific use of the Acturis platform would be beneficial
- Proficient use of Excel with excellent attention to detail and ability to achieve high levels of accuracy
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to work on own initiative
- Methodical and logical approach to problem solving
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
