Job description

Salary & Benefits: Salary range £33,625 - £42,031 per annum dependant on experience, annual performance bonus, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave, 8 x  bank holidays  plus a wellness day and development opportunities in line with the Engagement Advisor progression plan. Location: Bradford/ Hybrid Working (typically 1 x day in the office per week)

Work type:  Permanent, full time working 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Advisor to join the Internal Communications team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

A key goal of the Internal Communications team is to create an engaged, highly motivated workforce. We have a big part to play in achieving that goal and it’s essential that we have a coordinated approach to central engagement activity that can support and guide our colleagues to feel better connected to where they work. Understanding how connected people feel to where they work is hugely important for us and it’s proven that the more engaged colleagues are proven to provide a better service and perform better in their jobs. 

Where you fit in:

As our Engagement Advisor you will be key to help us make great improvements to some of our short and long-term plans we have to help us get ready for the future and give colleagues what they need to do a great job, ultimately helping improve the connection our people have whilst working at Yorkshire Water. Working across the whole organisation and more local, targeted areas, this role will support improvements and connectivity through activities and plans across a range of important engagement drivers’ topics like change, safety, recognition, wellbeing, communications and more.


You will - 


•    Manage our proactive and reactive engagement strategy – working with our Lead Internal Communications Advisor to develop and maintain a proactive and reactive engagement strategy and working alongside our Internal Communications and Brand team to create, plan, support, manage and evaluate current engagement activities as well as discover future opportunities to help improve our colleagues’ connection to where they work
•    Develop our central engagement activity plan for the whole business (covers key areas such as communication and engagement, wellbeing, fun and lifestyle and recognition) supported by establishing a regular reporting schedule to understand what’s working and what isn’t  
•    Develop resources and communications to support colleague engagement interventions at an organisation-wide and local level
•    Be our in-house expert and trusted advisor on engagement - Help us and our colleagues get ready for the future by providing engagement support (activities, information, facilitation etc) at a local and business-wide level with teams across the organisation
•    Look outside the organisation for best practices and opportunities to improve our engagement levels
•    Report on meaningful insights into how engaged our colleagues are - this includes planning, managing, administrating, and communicating our Yorkshire Voice colleague engagement survey to drive engagement scores and participation rates, supporting the creation of a framework for the management of action plans across the organisation and working with our senior leadership team following the survey
•    Manage the You Said We Did engagement and communications plan

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

•    You will be hugely passionate about people, an advocate of continuous improvement and have a good understanding of colleague engagement, motivation and morale
•    An approachable, confident person, able to inspire and provoke passion for delivering great communication and engagement for our amazing colleagues 
•    An understanding of what great communications and engagement looks like with a track record in achieving positive outcomes for people
•    Experienced in delivering excellent stakeholder communications and engagement activities, right from planning through to execution and evaluation, eg – lessons learned 
•    Strong stakeholder management skills and previous experience in developing a stakeholder focused engagement plan that supports the goals and objectives of the business
•    Previous experience in creating written communications and creative content that supports delivery of engagement plans
•    Ability to analyse and assess colleague engagement data with reporting expertise to help tell key stakeholders how we’re performing
•    Strong creative skills to engage colleagues across the organisation with proven tools, plans and channels to help reach our colleagues in a way that works for them
•    Experience of managing colleague engagement surveys, producing analysis and developing action plans
•    Lots of experience with key IT programmes (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
•    Excellent administration, planning, coordination, and organisational skills

 


We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1 x day in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
