Teacher of Food Technology
Permanent/ Full-time
Main Pay Range / Upper Pay Range
£30,000 - £41,333 / £43,266 - £46,525 per annum
To commence September 2024 or sooner
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher who is passionate about Food Technology to join a successful and continually improving department with an experienced team of dedicated specialists. We require a motivated and talented teacher of KS3 and KS4 Food Technology who has high expectations, strong classroom management skills and good subject knowledge to play a key role in shaping the food curriculum, fostering a love of cooking and equipping pupils with valuable life skills.
In return, we offer small class sizes, enthusiastic pupils and a supportive work environment. The department also benefits from well-equipped practical and teaching rooms, a full-time Design Technology technician and a part-time dedicated Food Technology technician.
All pupils at Hurworth School study Food Technology in Years 7, 8 and 9 with WJEC Level 1/2 Hospitality and Catering becoming optional in Year 10.
The department prides itself on teamwork, passion and drive and applications are welcome from experienced teachers or ECTs with a similar philosophy. This position may also encompass some KS3 Design Technology teaching.
