Express Recruitment are excited to be working with a fabulous Academy who are based in Sutton in Ashfield. We are looking to speak with candidates who have extensive experience of providing Pastoral Support to students on a 1-2-1 basis.

This opportunity would be perfect for someone who is seeking their next contract role, the position is initially to support until May 2024 however this may be extended.

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Provide emotional and physical support to children aged between 11 – 19 years old
• Aid children to perform at school whilst protecting their safety, happiness and welfare
• Conduct regular 121’s with students to ensure any problems are dealt with appropriately
• Support students to integrate well with other students in school hours
• Highlight potential concerns to teaching staff, clinicians and guardians
• Liaise with third party organisations via telephone and email

Skills & Experience

• Natural compassion and empathy skills, able to support children through difficulties
• Considerable experience working with vulnerable children
• Knowledge of Safeguarding protocol, with specific training on child welfare
• Relevant qualification in Child Development, Childcare, Teaching, or Social Care highly desirable
• Enhanced DBS Check essential, or willingness to process

Vacancy Summary

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm (term time only)

Salary: £11.00 – £13.00 per hour D.O.E

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Job Type: Temporary for approx. 3 months, potential to extend
