An opportunity has arisen for a Control System Engineer to join the Control Systems, Electrical Department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. The purpose of the role is to provide control design capabilities to the Control Systems Team.
Job role:
- Specification and development of control strategies to satisfy system requirements.
- Create application software architecture using AUTOSAR framework.
- Deriving and implementing software requirements from system requirements in MATLAB/Simulink to meet ASPICE standards.
- Working closely within the team to ensure the SW developed meets project requirements.
- Supporting IEC 61508/ISO26262 process with traceability from requirement to implementation.
- Derive test cases and execute MIL/SIL testing to ensure design meet requirements.
- Supporting HIL rig, system testing and data analysis.
- Contributing to patentable IP.
- Flexibility to accommodate project changes and achieve milestones.
You’ll have:
Essential skills:
- An electrical/electronic engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, Degree, Degree Apprenticeship), and a minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in mainstream automotive ECU software development.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and automatic code generation techniques for algorithm development.
- Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR modelling guidelines in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience developing production embedded software following IEC 61508 or ISO26262 process.
- Prior experience in designing at least one of the following domains: high-voltage electrical controls, Battery Management System (BMS), HV supervisory controllers, HV-contactors, Charging systems, DC-DC converters, or Battery Thermal management.
- Strong understanding of modelling techniques (Model Based Development).
- Working knowledge on embedded C programming and Git version control.
- Previous experience in UDS diagnostics (ISO 14229) and fault monitoring.
Desirable skills:
- Experience/understanding of test, calibration, and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge/experience with CANape/CANoe/CANalyzer and automotive communication protocols.
- MATLAB scripting to streamline, automate tasks and CI/CD.
- Proficiency in control theory and advanced control methods.
- Understanding of problem-solving methodology and software quality framework.
Travel to customer and test sites, as required.
