Teaching AssistantsME5 Annual Pay FTE: £27,030 Annual Pay (actual): £23,506Start date: Summer 2nd half term
Working hours: 35 hours per week, term time plus inset daysWe are looking to appoint enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistants across a number of our sites within Melrose School part of Melbury College. Melrose School is split across sites including Melrose Primary, Secondary and our bespoke provisions known as Worsfold House and Cobham Court. All sites cater for pupils who have an EHCP and a primary need of social, emotional, mental health.
As a result of the varying needs of our pupils, accessing education within a mainstream setting has been challenging. Therefore, we are seeking Teaching Assistants who are passionate about education and are innovative and ambitious in creating a learning culture in which our pupils will feel valued and safe. Successful candidates will be responsible for:
Work as a Teaching Assistant supporting learning and behaviour in lessons and unstructured times, fulfilling all duties as required by SLT
Enable access to learning for pupils
Assist the teacher in the preparation of resources and the management of pupils and the classroom
Supervise external/internal examinations
Work with pupils 1-1 or in small groups with regard to SEN needs, behaviour and learning
To keep abreast of and share up-to-date theoretical knowledge and application in SEN to ensure pupils’ specific needs are met
