Trusts and Foundations Officer

British Liver Trust

Location

Winchester, Hampshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Role: Trusts and Foundations Officer (part-time and full-time considered over 3-5 days a week)
Based: Hybrid working, 1 or 2 days a month in the Winchester office
Salary: £30k (FTE) pro-rata, depending on experience

The British Liver Trust is the leading UK charity for adults at risk of or affected by liver disease or liver cancer. Liver disease is a silent killer and is on the increase, with late or missed diagnoses leading to avoidable deaths. There is a lack of awareness and understanding of the range and causes of liver conditions, which needs to change. The charity is growing, but needs to be much, much bigger to tackle this crisis.

Core and project funding from trusts and foundations is essential to fund our patient services and campaigning and awareness work; we are looking to grow this and other income streams over the next 5 years to meet increased patient needs.

About you – You are definitely a team player but very productive and happy to work alone; you are great at meeting deadlines and setting out priorities; you have excellent attention to detail and are passionate about delivering good stewardship for our amazing funders. You can communicate brilliantly over the phone, in person and in writing; and you can create a compelling Case for Support. You are great at research and seeking out new funding opportunities. You will work productively to manage a portfolio of small to medium trust funders to help the charity meet and exceed our ambitious fundraising targets. If you have 3+ years’ experience fundraising from charitable trusts, a passion for good health and a creative way with words, you could be just what we are looking for. This post will be line-managed by our Trusts and Foundations Manager, and be part of a growing, ambitious Fundraising team.
