Job description
For our location in Telford we are looking for you as a Application Engineer in full-time as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities:
- Promptly and accurately address technical questions including service line, materials, manufacturability, and part design challenges for our customers using the appropriate communication tool, (Telephone, Email, Skype, Join me etc.)
- Address technical objections from customers by focusing on Protolabs’ strengths
- Communicate opportunities and risks identified during customer interactions to appropriate sales representative
- Support customer-centric philosophy in all written and verbal communications both internally and externally
- Provide technical support to customers that have received quotes which required 3D CAD model changes to discuss how they can make the changes to improve manufacturability using the Protolabs’ processes.
- Participate and host customer meetings on and off site, exhibitions/trade shows and conference calls upon request, to provide technical support for the sales process
- Work with our marketing department to deliver live talks, educational visits, webinars, and videos.
- Document relevant notes in the intranet and critical information in CRM to move the sales process forward
- Resolve issues diplomatically in a logical and non-emotional manner
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities as required
- Support data analytics as required
- Assist with post sale technical advice as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and customer trust
- Demonstrated ability to use Q&A techniques to assess a customer’s situation and provide relevant solutions.
- Experience working directly with end customers desirable
- Experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field
- Experience in leading meetings and delivering presentations
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling software is desired
- Experience or knowledge of plastic injection moulding, CNC machining or 3DP process; or the mechanical design principles of designing for injection moulding is highly desired.
- Understanding of thermal and mechanical properties of thermoplastic resins highly desired.
