Salary:
Lecturer Grade F: £39,347 to £44,263 per annum
Lecturer Grade G: £45,585 to £54,395 per annum
Senior Lecturer Grade H: £56,021 to £64,914 per annum

The Role
We have an opportunity to join Newcastle University in a newly created role in collaboration with Northumbria University.
In this role, you will report to the Dean of Education Faculty of Medical Sciences and will lead on the University’s delivery relating to Inter-Professional Education (IPE) across a wide range of medical, dental, pharmacy, and allied health professional programs.
You will have the opportunity to develop a new programme of learning.
You will engage with a distributed network of people involved in this portfolio across the University, working collaboratively with the director of IPE at Northumbria University.
You will actively engage in research and related activities to contribute to excellence in these areas, to inform curriculum development and delivery, and raise the profile of the University nationally and internationally.
You will be expected to demonstrate continuing academic attainment and achievement and provide academic leadership of their subject and associated colleagues, through active contribution to their discipline and to the life and work of the faculty and wider University. Beyond the University, this will involve contributing to significant change within practice, the discipline, profession and/or community at regional, national and international level.

Key Accountabilities
Contribute to delivering the Faculty’s strategic priorities, which include the integration of excellent teaching, the development of a coherent programme of Inter-Professional Education, and high-quality research
- Lead on the development, organisation and delivery of Inter-Professional Education across a wide range of programmes
- Work collaboratively across University’s clinical programmes and with colleagues from Northumbria University to deliver a joint approach to Inter-Professional Education across the two universities
- Work with practice partners to ensure that Inter-Professional Education addresses workforce priorities within the North-East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System
- Evaluate, through empirical studies, Inter-Professional Education and its impact on workforce development
- Work collaboratively and professionally with partner / external organisations and stakeholders, building excellent relationships at all levels
- Report on Inter-Professional Education activity to the Faculty Education Committee and University Education Committee
- Lead and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessments, supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations
- Act as a personal tutor to students on the University’s taught programmes

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A thorough understanding of the role of Inter-Professional Education in clinical education
- Excellent knowledge of the complexities of the changing context of the discipline of Inter-Professional Education
- An established research and/or teaching career
- Evidence of ability, and willingness, to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Evidence of providing an outstanding educational experience, rooted in strong disciplinary knowledge that engages, challenges, and inspires our students
- Evidence of exceptional innovative and creative contributions to teaching including use of new technologies to enhance learning
- Experience working within a healthcare setting and/or managing a project within an educational setting
- Knowledge, ability, and expertise to lead and contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and/or post graduate teaching
- Experience of designing, co-ordinating, and leading modules or courses at Undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- Experience of collaborative cross-disciplinary working
- Track record of academic/clinical excellence ( externally recognised national and international reputation for outstanding academic work or contribution to the discipline and well-known and publicly recognised by national or international peers for this work)
- Experience of fulfilling a leadership role

Qualifications
- Registered with a medical/healthcare professional regulatory body (e.g.: GMC, NMC, HCPC)
- PhD in IPE or clinical subject area
- First degree or Masters in related discipline
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or equivalent qualification for teaching in UK Higher Education (desirable) or evidence of potential to achieve this (essential)
