Do you have a passion for inspiring children to grow fruit and vegetables and improve their health and wellbeing? Doyou some horticultural experience and enjoy working with children and their families? This is an excitingopportunity to join a new project that aims to actively improve the health of children and their families, andtheir understanding and interest in the environment and biodiversity. The project will span four Primary Schoolsin Rosyth. Where children will learn and participate in their schools sowing, planting, growing, harvesting,tasting, and cooking fruit and vegetables. They will take this learning home – growing and cooking and eatingfruit and vegetables at home.

You will join a Project Gardner and a Project Support Officer and be supported by the General Manager of EATS Rosyth.The Education officer will lead on the project activities, deliver the lessons to the children and create theeducation programme at the end of the project and lead on its dissemination.

Example of some of the main duties will include:

• Research and creating resources for the project.
• Prepare and plan all aspects of the project to meetagreed timescales, including completing the lesson plans in collaboration with schoolteachers.
• Work withthe Project Support/ Administrative Officer to create a communications strategy for the project and support themin using social media to communicate with all stakeholders.
• Engage and involve families and carers intothe project and work with them throughout.
• Work with the Project Gardener and schools to create thedesign and plan the maintenance of the growing spaces within each school.
• Utilise the Taste Educationresources and lesson plans and evaluations with children across the 4 primary schools in Rosyth.
• Deliverthe education programme within agreed primary classes across the 4 Rosyth schools.
• Work with the ProjectSupport/ Administrative Officer on the collection of and analysis of the data.
• Utilise evaluationmethods to ensure the education programme is meeting its aims.
• In collaboration with the team andsteering group, write a final project report, including an evaluation of its outcomes, the final educationprogramme and its resources.

• Prepare for the education programme lessons so thatthe Education Officer has the necessary equipment and materials ready to use with the children.
• Workwith the Project Administrator Officer to support how the project is communicated, for example takingphotographs for promotion on social media.
• Involve families and carers in the project and work with themthrough out.

• Support the team to work within the budget for the project.
• Procure and purchaseequipment and materials for the project.
• Support the creation of resources for theproject.
• Provide the administrative support to the project plan, including ensuring it meets its agreedtimescales.
• Create a communications strategy with the project team and operationalise the strategy,which will include using social media to communicate with all stakeholders.
• Organise and support thework of engaging and involving families and carers into the project and continue this work throughout theproject.
• Manage any events that are required for the project, during the planning and active phase andfor the dissemination of the project.
• Organise the timetable for the education programme within theagreed primary classes across the 4 Rosyth schools.
• Prepare all the resources needed by the EducationOfficer to deliver each individual lesson.
