We are excited to have a newly created opportunity for a Talent & Development Business Partner to join our new T&D function, which is responsible for supporting the business to drive the future of talent & succession planning and learning & development within the Forth Ports Group.
This is a hybrid role, and can be based from any of our UK ports however travel across our ports will be required.
Please note we are looking for individuals with a strong L&D / Talent Development background and this role does not sit within Talent Acquisition.
About The Role
As the Talent and Development Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our workforce and guiding employee growth and development. It is a really exciting time to join us, with wide scope in the role to support the overall business through talent and succession planning, as well as building development programmes and interventions. You will partner with business leaders to enable and drive our people agenda and will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of people plans that enable business objectives and continuity across our teams. Other responsibilities include:
Provide support across the employee lifecycle and deliver initiatives that enhance the culture, capacity and capability required to build engaged high-performing inclusive teams across our ports.
Working with the Talent & Development Manager (Group) & CPO to conceptualise and deliver people development plans and wider projects.
Supporting our HR teams and business leaders in the delivery of our talent and succession process. Identifying gaps and building action orientated development plans to close those gaps.
Ensuring talent & development programmes / solutions are targeted correctly to meet our succession plan objectives.
Responsibility for designing, implementing, evaluating and continuously improving leadership programmes and learning tools to support talent, succession & build on existing leadership capabilities.
Supporting the digitisation of parts of our learning portfolio, creating an ‘at point of need’ development offering through our LMS.
Provide support across the management and leadership population that equips them to lead engaged high-performing inclusive teams.
Deploy coaching and development support interventions to grow our core leadership capability.
Build strong relationships across the business with relevant stakeholders looking for opportunities to implement digital, blended or experiential learning solutions to deliver the biggest impact for the business.
Partner with external training providers where required getting the best out of our budget and spend.
Design training and engagement materials that support smaller scale, bespoke and topical business messages and focuses.
Facilitate webinars, face to face sessions across the group where required.
Maintain data reporting, evaluation and other tracking metrics to share with various internal stakeholders.

Strong experience and exposure to talent and succession planning and activities
Knowledge of external development solutions & approaches that will add measurable value to our business
Proven experience in blended Learning and Development Programme scoping, design and delivery
Adept in navigating a matrix organisation
Strong communication skills & stakeholder management skills
Digital Skills Office 365 / Power-Bi (digital design / e-learning authoring tool skills desirable)
Strong planning & project management skills
Commercially aware
Coaching & Psychometrics qualifications desirable
A passion for professional & personal development
