Job description

Connect Appointments have a new opportunity for an experienced and reliable individual to become a Tendering Estimator with our clients growing Dunfermline team.

Our client is an extremely experienced in providing innovative solutions in instrumentation, commissioning and servicing to businesses across the utilities, food and beverage, and oil and gas industries.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week - Office hours during Monday to Friday.

As a Tendering Estimator you will be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive estimates for a variety of projects related to instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and supply only quotes.

Combined with the following duties and responsibilities:

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and supply only quotes
• Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to develop project proposals that meet the client's needs and budget
• Source pricing for materials and equipment, negotiate pricing with vendors, and evaluate the total cost of ownership
• Identify potential project risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
• Review and analyse project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements
• Provide support during the project execution phase by assisting the project management team in reviewing change orders, identifying cost savings opportunities, and performing project close-out activities
• Maintain accurate records of estimates and cost data for future reference
• Continuously monitor industry trends and technological advancements to stay up to date. with new products and best practices related to instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and supply only quotes

To be successful in this role you will ideally have previous experience in estimating for instrument, mechanical, electrical, and supply only projects. You will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to develop project proposals that meet the client's requirements, while also ensuring that the project remains profitable for the company.

You will also posses a minimum of 2 years of experience in technical estimating for instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and supply only projects. Combined with:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with estimating software
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
• Experience in project management is a plus
