Job description
Targe Towing Limited is a subsidiary of the Forth Ports Group and operates a modern fleet of vessels in support of Port, Harbour and Terminal operating in across Scotland and beyond.
About The Role
Due to significant success and continued growth, we are recruiting for a professional Chief Engineer to join our team in Scotland to operate onboard ASD/ATD/ Voith Harbour Tugs. Whilst business needs may change the base location of the Tugs, we are looking for individuals who can readily travel to our Forth, Leith or other Scotland sites.
Your responsibilities will be:
Carrying out operational services to ships in a safe and responsible manner
Ensuring the safe operation of the vessels and engines, generators and associated machinery and equipment
Ensuring that both deck and engine machinery is maintained to the highest standards at all times
Following statutory and regulatory guidelines as laid down by the Company, MCA and other external bodies, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and kept up to date
Carrying out ships’ husbandry and Health and Safety checks onboard the vessel, rectifying and reporting faults as required
Assisting with deck duties
Cooking duties for tugs crew every 3rd night.
What we are looking for:
Experienced Chief Engineer with minimum certification Chief Engineer <9000kw
Ability to thoroughly analyse all engineering situations and to submit detailed and accurate written and oral reports
Ability to diagnose and rectify faults for all machinery and equipment
Must have full UK working rights
