Eurofins Alba is a contract research organisation based in the centre of Edinburgh. We are contracted by various cosmetic and personal care product manufacturers or retailers to test their products. We test the products to confirm their safety and efficacy in use - to ensure the products are safe and that they work. We have a database of human volunteers who take part in our tests who either attend our test centre in Edinburgh or test products from their own home. Products can range from shampoos through to make up, with many different study types to help support marketing claims such as “Moisturises for 12 hours”
Job Description
Working hours are Monday - Friday 9.00 - 17.00.
The purpose of the role is to deliver friendly, efficient customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors contacting Eurofins Alba Science Ltd. You will research, evaluate, coordinate and implement volunteer recruitment projects which will be designed around upcoming study required and longer-term volunteer panel development strategy/objectives.
You will assist with study Volunteer recruitment, dealing with all volunteer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail. Additionally, you will work closely with the Project Managers and study teams to ensure successful study recruitment and maintaining lines of communication with the team to keep them updated on the progress of recruitment.
- Contribution to the research, planning and implementation of continuous recruitment efforts to increase the panel, submitting ideas and assisting with recruitment initiatives e.g. preparation of marketing leaflets.
- Continuously evaluate Volunteer panel to monitor panel registrations and withdrawals and to understand the panel demographics and utilisation.
- Research recruitment, advertising, and marketing options to increase the number of actively participating Volunteers on the panel.
- Be aware of new trends and needs from the sales team in terms of the Volunteer type and proactively seek to recruit these demographics.
- Prepare data and reports on the Volunteer panel along with updates on progress of objectives to Recruitment Manager and Senior Team.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing Assistant on various marketing initiatives.
- Deal with all volunteer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail.
- Processing volunteer enquiries and registering volunteers on the company database.
- Contacting volunteers to recruit them for specific studies, via various channels scheduling times for their visits and performing the accordant administration on the database.
- Keep up to date with current studies, to provide information to volunteers on request, while maximising recruitment opportunities.
- Creation of study schedules and volunteer appointment schedules.
- Creation of Volunteer surveys
- Deliver excellent customer service, receiving and supporting the volunteers whilst in attendance at the study centre and directing visitors to the appropriate contact.
- Maintain the reception area(s) ensuring that they are clean and tidy, at all times.
- Receiving post/deliveries, recording the relevant data accurately and alerting the appropriate staff member.
Qualifications
Essential
- Has a highly professional manner and is presentable at all times.
- Implementing successful recruitment initiatives to achieve Volunteer recruitment objectives.
- Successful enrolment of suitable Volunteers onto studies in accordance with study deadlines.
- Has shown a hands on, assertive approach who has been confident and happy working with the general public.
- Ensure that all volunteer enquiries are dealt with in a timely, professional manner.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner.
- IT literate, familiar with the volunteer database and appointment schedules.
- Successful attainment of competencies as required for study work.
- Improving procedures and volunteer experience by suggesting innovative process amendments.
Desirable
- Experience of working in Cosmetics, Hairdressing, Beauty, dentistry, or medical/clinical setting.
- Social media experience
- Website content maintenance
- Experience in using survey monkey or an online survey platform.
- Experience in working within a Laboratory/Research environment.
- Recruitment experience
- Document authoring
