Job description
Cornwall Council are seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to provide academic leadership and management across the HDRC. The main duties are as follows: Have experience in delivering research results within public health / wider determinants of health and experience of applying principles of epidemiology, medical statistics and health care evaluation in a work-based environment. Have experience of advising managers, colleagues, members and partners on a range of research or business intelligence issues. Have knowledge of research methodologies and models, approaches, techniques, critiques and methods relevant to the wider determinants of health. Understand the complexities and challenges of working with delivery partners. Have skills in research and analysing/interpreting data, deriving meaning and presenting it effectively. Provide senior level research and insight support to help meet the requirements of the new HDRC project and ensure the HDRC moves to successful and sustainable establishment. Support the establishment of appropriate HDRC research guidelines, best practice through research, and development of new approaches. Identify opportunities to promote research and evidence-based decision making throughout the organisation and identify opportunities to improve the relevance and efficiency of research and business intelligence activity. To help communicate the HDRC role and purpose to stakeholders by supporting the overall project communications approach. Assist in identifying and monitoring of key metrics to evaluate the impact of research activity and changes.
