Join our team as Head of Therapies at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.
Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist Level 2 purpose-built neurorehabilitation facility, rated as GOOD by the Care Quality Commission. Set on a 3.5-acre plot, surrounded by mature woodlands and well-maintained grounds, providing care for up to 26 patients.We are part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites nationally) and we focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation, and technology to meet patients’ expectations of their rehabilitation goals.
The team delivers high-quality and intensive neurological rehabilitation; physical, cognitive, functional, and vocational assessments; behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults.
We support patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury.
The interdisciplinary team is led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine. Patients benefit from access to our neuro-specialist team consisting of a Junior Doctor, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Technicians, specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants.
As Head of Therapies, you will play a key role in shaping and leading the therapy service at Woodlands, contributing to the overall success of our neurorehabilitation programs. If you are looking to make a difference in a rewarding leadership role, we want to hear from you!
What you'll be working:
This role is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday.
What you'll be doing:
- As Head of Therapies, you will report to theService Manager and be responsible for the strategic and professional direction of Therapy Services. This involves delivery of all operational performance targets, ensuring all services are provided within the agreed level of activity, standards of performance, safety, quality, and budget
- You will be ultimately accountable for all Allied Health Professional Therapists, and Therapy Support Staff, and will directly manage the Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language teams
- Work closely with andreport directly to the Service Manager
- You will have an active clinical caseload
- Be an innovator, an educator, and a mentor, providing robust representation for therapy services within the Senior Management Team
- Carry out audit, policy, and service development and research activities and/or programmes. The post holder will also propose and implement policy and service development changes
- Be responsible for developing and implementing standards across Therapy Services, which support professional leadership, competence, capacity and standards of conduct
- Collaborating with senior management to define and implement new ways of working to maximise benefits, ensuring gains in both cost-effectiveness and clinical efficiency
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
What you'll have:
- HCPC Registration
- Be an experienced Therapist
- A strong clinical background and maintain a clinical remit dependent on your skill set
- Experience of leading a Multi-Disciplinary Department
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
