Job description
Children's Social Care within Oldham Council is looking to recruit a suitably skilled and experienced individual to take on the role of Team Manager within our Children's Assessment Service. You should share our aspirations for children and young people in Oldham and be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability and motivational skills. Experience of working in partnership with colleagues across public services at the front line would be an asset.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence the positive impact they have made within the child protection arena and their ability to think tactically and strategically to deliver results through effective collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing a team of 6 social workers and a senior practitioner. The Team is responsible for undertaking s47 investigations, single assessments, and promoting early intervention alongside robust child in need planning. Within the role you will:

* Manage the efficient operation of services to ensure the delivery of a high quality, high performance and cost effective service
* Deliver on service plan objectives, developing a performance culture within the team, undertaking performance management and overseeing the recruitment of staff
* Ensure all children known to the service have a robust plan which reflects individual needs and effectively safeguards them.
* Provide effective supervision with a focus on the quality of practice and achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* Must have Experience in Managing Social Worker team
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
