We pride ourselves on providing, holistic, evidence based care for the 7000 families we work with each year over the large geographical area covered by the trust and support our community staff to work in environments that best suit their skill set from the inner city to rural areas.

We are delighted to be able to offer a choice of birth environments and are able to support birthing people to deliver their babies where they wish, at home, in a midwifery led unit or in hospital.

This role includes an on call commitment to support our homebirth service for which we will provide all the training and support you need.

NWAFT are offering a£2000 golden hello*payment to new starters within our community teams and support viaenhanced mileage payments* (*terms and conditions apply).

Providing evidence based antenatal and postnatal care within the community setting, following local and national guidance.

Having a good knowledge of safeguarding and working within a multidisciplinary team.

Providing education and support for pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period within a varied framework ie. face to face, sign posting to internet based support and external agencies where appropriate.

Team working including a pro rata on call commitment.

Managing a caseload of birthing people and their families, taking responsibility for all aspects of their care, referring appropriately and working towards a model of continuity of care as outlined in Better Births (2016).

North West Anglia community midwifery teams pride themselves on person-centred care. They work in partnership with all agencies within the community to achieve this by providing antenatal education, feeding support and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary teams, including safeguarding and the Community Specialist Team.

Our Community Service spans a large geographical area, with diverse populations in city and rural locations. We are a friendly, supportive team and pride ourselves on providing high levels of continuity antenatally and postnatally, whilst we work towards a the gold standard of Continuity of Carer. We are committed to offering choice for the birthing people and families we provide care for.

There is currently availability of roles across our service within both the Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke catchment. We provide a 7 day a week service, with the need for occasional multi-site working. We have a fully digital service, with great support networks and training opportunities, providing specific community based skills training and development.
