Management Accountant
Up to £40k

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, dynamic and successful SME client of ours with a game-changing product as a Management Accountant. Our client like to keep everything in-house in order to maintain their reputation for quality and agility.
This role is an excellent development role in a growing company for the right person. The successful candidate will be fully involved in the monthly accounts process and will be accountable for the whole of purchase ledger, including invoices, cash forecasting, payments, and reconciliation.
Experience of software packages such as SAGE, SAP or similar is necessary as well as a proficiency in Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of the monthly accounting process including review of spend to budget / forecast.
- Creation of monthly accruals and prepayments
- Control of stock takes and calculation of inventory
- Control and reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Quarterly VAT reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Control of Fixed asset register - monitoring of new spend on assets & calculation of depreciation.
- Control of chart of accounts including new GL codes / blocking old codes, monitoring of spend postings
- Completion of a daily bank reconciliation
- Forecasting future cash outflows using all available data
- Three-way matching and coding of invoices
- Preparing payment schedules for approval
- Processing payments via BACS
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Coding of staff expense
- Monitoring of material costs and price variances to expected
- Master data - new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
- Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience of bookkeeping / management accounts is necessary
- Purchase ledger experience in a systemised environment is necessary.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good team working skills, this a small SME so flexibility and the ability to adapt to new challenges is necessary.
- Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and initiative-taking nature.
- Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages.
- Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE / SAP or similar.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ideally studying towards one of the recognised accountancy qualifications
