Casual Teaching Assistants working core hours (9.30am-2.30pm) Wigston siteBirkett House is a very popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire and we are currently looking for Casual Teaching Assistants to work core hours. The main school site is in Wigston and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe.
The Casual Teaching Assistant roles will suit people who want to work core hours and days which will fit around their own commitments allowing job flexibility and hours which will be more appropriate to their home and family life. You will be based at our Wigston site and your working days can be mutually agreed to suit your individual need with core hours being 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The Casual Teaching Assistant role an integral member within a class team generally covering staff absence. You will work alongside other teaching assistants and under the direction of a teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant, supporting groups of children across a class and department. Contract type: Casual - Working hours will be those offered on each occasion work is offered, within your preferences.
Contract term: Casual, term time only
Salary: Grade 4, point 5. Hourly rate £11.78. Pro rata of full time equivalent salary £22,743 dependent on hours worked.Additional 12% holiday pay on worked hours.
The closing date is Sunday 7th April 2024 and shortlisting will take place week commencing Monday 8th April.Shortlisted candidates will be expected to spend at least ½ day in a class before the interview date and this visit does form part of our interview procedure. Interviews will take place either Thursday 18th April or Friday 19th April.
