They are looking for a Laravel Developer to further capitalise on their explosive growth over the last few years. The ideal candidate will work within an important part of the business and will have a passion to improve and develop systems and online capabilities. They are agile, focused and keen to gain further market share and the developer team is a key part of this growth strategy.
They are seeking an inquisitive thinker. Someone who asks lots of questions, and is a problem solver.
Requirements:-
Essential
• At least 3 years of PHP & Laravel experience
• Most recent employment focused on PHP/Laravel
Desirable/Non Essential
• Strong grasp of PHP coding principles, PSRs, continuous integration
• Good knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB, including indexes and table design
• Proficient in VueJS, CSS
• PHP testing Laravel Dusk or pest
• DevOps experience, troubleshooting MySQL/nginx/php-fpm machines
• Worked with many external APIs, e.g Stripe, Google, AWS, OpenAI.
• GitHub and Pull requests
Nice to have
• Has worked in a similar industry e.g CRM / lead generation / email/sms
• Has worked on an iOS/android app with a Laravel backend
• Can lead less experience members of the development team
• Worked with technologies: RabbitMQ, Pusher, Galera, Docker
• Worked with an app with a huge number of database models (ours has 600+)
• Worked with an app with a huge database (100GB+; our database is over 3TB)
• Has worked with microservices.
Person Characteristics
• Will ask lots of intelligent questions
• Great communication skills - whether written / verbal you must be able to communicate effectively, primarily with technical but also other staff and stakeholders
• Have a keen interest in the commercial nature of the business and how your role interacts with outcomes
• Has worked with data manipulation / statistics, particularly testing
• Has front end experience and not afraid to use it
• Wants to work as part of small team but be a key figure
• Wants to grow with the company, not just a stepping stone
• Cares about the outcome not the process - happy not to be right first time (we rarely are)
• Sees it more as a hobby or passion than just a job - reads up on latest technology etc
