Job description

Job Purpose To assist the Facilities Lead in the operational management of the Facilities Department to provide value for money and excellence in service provision. Duties and Responsibilities The post holder has line management responsibility for The Wonford Site and ASU PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES - DOMESTIC 1. Assist the Senior Facilities Lead by organising the day to day management of the Facilities Services within the confines of the agreed budget. 2. Ensure appropriate work schedules for all areas of responsibility are in place, current, and displayed. 3. Management of the teams electronic roster, adhering to production schedules. 4. Maintain appropriate records of staffing levels, staff hours and cleaning supplies. 5. Organise and control the movement of staff between areas to ensure emergency cover. 6. Complete national cleaning audits for areas of responsibility, and quarterly validation audits where appropriate. 7. To liaise with Senior Nurses, Ward Managers and Heads of Departments. 8. Ensure all staff receive supervision and appraisal following policy guidance and adhering to frequencies. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES - CATERING 1. Oversee the ward catering service ensuring hygiene and food standard regulations are adhered to. 2. Ensure staff receive training on equipment, and are current with food safety training as per policy guidance. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES PORTERING 1. To manage portering staff where applicable 2. Organise the movement of deliveries and disposals within area of responsibility. To include delivery of the patient meal service where appropriate. July 2021 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Authorised signatory for the ordering/purchasing of stock items. 2. Select, recruit, and appoint staff ensuring they receive appropriate induction and training in line with their responsibilities. 3. Record and manage the number of bins on site in relation to the confidential waste & sanitary hygiene contracts. 4. Provide support to other facilities teams within the organisation. 5. Ensure all tasks are assessed, safety control measures applied, and the Senior Facilities Lead is informed of tasks deemed significant or high risk. 6. Assist the Senior Facilities Lead in monitoring external service contracts provided to the Trust, i.e. waste management, cleaning, pest control etc. 7 Partake in the departments rotational weekend on call duties where applicable. 8. Occasionally, the post holder may be required to carry out other duties, appropriate to the grade at the discretion of the Trust.
