Job description
Our client, a highly regarded mainstream academy, is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general in-class support to students who have been diagnosed with various special educational needs and disabilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education and be committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people. They will have experience working with students who have challenging behaviour and be able to support them in a calm and sensitive manner.
Responsibilities:
• Provide general in-class support to students
• Work closely with the class teacher to ensure that the needs of all students are met
• Support students who have various SEND
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Encourage and motivate students to engage in their learning
• Provide feedback to the class teacher on the progress of individual students
• Attend regular meetings with the SENCO and other members of the school’s pastoral team
Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• The ability to work with students who have challenging behaviour and are at risk of exclusion
• A positive and proactive attitude towards work
• A valid DBS check
