Community Wardens Operations Manager

Job description
The purpose of the role is to manage a team of community safety wardens. The team has the mission to provide a highly visible presence via patrols in specific locations to anti-social behaviour, reduce neighbourhood crimes, increase community confidence and reduce the levels of fear for the community we will be serving.
As operations manager you oversee and coordinate the implementation of the community safety service. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our scheme, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes and community impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Planning and Strategy Development:
- Assess community safety needs through data analysis, community surveys, and consultations with stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Develop comprehensive safety plans and strategies tailored to address specific safety challenges and priorities as highlighted by relevant stakeholders
- Identify and prioritise areas for intervention based on risk assessment and community input.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and implement evidence-based programs and interventions to prevent crime and the fear of crime, reduce violence in a public place, and promote safety.
- Coordinate with community partners and businesses to deliver services and initiatives that address root causes of safety issues, such as poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, and housing concerns as well as illegal street trading and Vandalism.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and implement adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Build and maintain relationships with community members, organisations, and leaders to foster trust, collaboration, and participation in safety efforts.
- Attend community meetings, workshops, and forums to solicit input, share information, and mobilise support for safety initiatives.
- Empower residents to take an active role in crime prevention through promoting existing services such as neighbourhood watch programs, safety patrols, and other community-based activities.
Partnership Development and Coordination:
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, government departments, non-profit organisations, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise in addressing safety issues.
- Create, develop and identify hotspot areas to inform patrol plans.
- Engage businesses and property owners in efforts to improve safety and security in commercial areas and public spaces.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Identify and arrange training for the Marshal team to ensure all team members are conversant with current legislation, officer safety modules and community concerns.
- Develop and disseminate educational materials and resources in partnership with key stakeholders to raise the profile and community awareness of. the team and the work in which it is undertaking to assist the local community it serves.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of safety initiatives, activities, and outcomes.
- Collect and analyse data on crime trends, incident reports, and community feedback to inform decision-making and measure progress.
- Prepare regular reports and KPI presentations for Senior management and Stakeholders with detailed progress of all taskings.
- Record and adhere to all GDPR processes.
