Job description
This role will be working with children and young people, on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, to ensure their safety and care. You will have strong attention to detail and be confident in writing detailed notes about your observations of the young person's emotions, interactions, learning journey and their daily routines.
You will be required to take part in activities with the young person and encourage them to become independent, to follow a routine and focus on their learning and building independence.
Ideally, previous experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviour or a range of mental health issues and disabilities would be advantageous, but we appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere, so full training will be provided.
Preferred candidates will:
Have the ability to adapt and act swiftly to challenging situations
Have a high level of patience and emotional resilience.
A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person's needs or behaviours.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct.
Be willing to undertake training and personal development in line with changing standards.
Every person working in education and residential care is subject to an Enhanced DBS and reference check.
We are unable to offer sponsorship, so only those with existing eligibility to live and work in the UK will be considered.
