Interim PT Environmental Health Team Leader

Pay Rate: £21.95 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 21.75 Monday to Friday, TBC
This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: COALVILLE
Supervise 3 EHOs and 2 Food Safety Officers. Provide advice and guidance to officers complete review of operational procedure notes. Under the direction of the Team Manager to carry out the duties of the Council in relation to food control, health and safety, infection control and port health, supervising the Environmental Health Officers and Food Safety Officers.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Lead Food Officer
Devise and review operational procedure notes
Provide guidance and technical support to all members of the safety team
Manage the performance and development of all members of the safety team
Plan, co-ordinate and participate in the programme of interventions to ensure the authority meets its statutory obligations for food safety and health and safety.
Provide Environmental Health advice and guidance to customers by telephone, letter and face to face
Investigate complaints and workplace accidents
Take a lead role with the operation of the Border Control Post and imported food control
Complete statutory returns
Ensure compliance with the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme Brand Standard

Qualifications:
Hold the Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB)
Have a minimum of 20 hours of relevant continued professional development (CPD), including a minimum of 10 hours food related CPD
Hold a current driving licence and have a vehicle available for work purposes
Knowledge:
Knowledge of how the effective delivery of regulation can facilitate business growth – Better Business for All Partnership
Evidence of knowledge of relevant food control, imported food and health and safety legislation, codes of practice, guidance, internal procedures and service standards
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years practical experience of working as an Environmental Health Officer within local government undertaking duties in relation to food control and health and safety
Evidence of effectively undertaking inspections, investigations and enforcement action
Evidence of effectively communicating with the public by telephone, face to face and in writing
Evidence of effectively using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint) or similar
Evidence of effective data inputting and record keeping
Skills & Abilities:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to influence people to achieve desired results
