What you will do in your working day

No two days are ever the same as a wastewater network apprentice.

During your 36-month apprenticeship, you'll learn to operate and look after all of the kit we use to collect and transfer wastewater from homes and businesses across the North West to our treatment works where it is treated and safely discharged to the environment.

For the first two years of your apprenticeship, you'll spend your time learning the ropes as a wastewater network apprentice. After this time, you'll be assigned to a specific wastewater network role, as a wastewater drainage delivery technician or a customer support technician, enabling you to become an expert in your field. 

What you’ll learn from us:

• How to look after all of our sewers and wastewater assets such as pumping stations and combined sewer overflows
• How to respond to wastewater issues such as blockages, flooding & pollution
• How to support the business during incidents and events
• How to resolve customer queries and complaints

The training you will be getting

• Successful apprentices will achieve a Wastewater Industry Network Technician, Level: 3 which is endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships
• Apprentice workplace and Block release 1 week every month for 12-months
