Job description
Axcis Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant in Bournemouth to work in a Special Educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school. If you have experience working with children and young adults with SEND, then this is the job for you! We are looking for a teaching assistant who is reliable, compassionate, understanding, and resilient. Full time and part time posts available and the hours required are from 0830-1530.
Previous experience is required for this post either working with children in this sector (or have experience as a care worker/support worker in a similar sector). This is a special school in Bournemouth that supports young people in the secondary sector, the ages vary between ages 11-16. The school mainly helps support a range of special education needs including SEMH, ASD and ADHD. The pupils have access to a range of great resources to help promote learning and education, including a sensory room, therapy hub and quiet reflection rooms. These resources help address each of the child’s individual needs in order to help them learn and thrive through education. You will be a role model, mentor, and daily support to the child you will be working with. This role would be suited to someone from a care background who is able to be sensitive to the learners personal as well as academic needs.
