Job description

We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic support worker who is patient and willing to spend quality time engaging our client in different activities and supporting therapies as prescribed by the rehabilitation team. The clients therapists and family will provide support and person-specific training. If successful, you will work within the clients home and the wider community supporting them in attending and participating in various activities, e.g., cinema, Ski4All and inclusive swimming lessons. What you will be working: 16 hours per week 3 evening per week 3pm to 7pm Saturdays 10am until 2pm - with some flexibility to fit in with other commitments you may already have What you will be doing: Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems Liaise with and support the family as required Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events Follow the service user plan as documented for the client Maintain accurate and confidential records Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate Westcountry Case Management are a friendly, forward-thinking company who help our clients recruit their own support workers. You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
