Position :Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Technical Account Manager
Location :Exeter. This role will require you to be in the office in Exeter if you are not on site with a customer. It is therefore important that you either live within a reasonable commuting distance of Exeter OR are prepared to relocate to the area
Sector :Automotive, aerospace or defence preferred, although any strong mechanical engineering background will be considered
Salary Package :Basic c £60,000 (negotiable) plus car or allowance, bonus and very competitive benefits package

Key Account Manager / Business Development Manager / Technical Sales Manager
Do you want to work as a true partner with some of the most iconic names in automotive, motorsport and defence? Are you capable of holding technical discussions with engineering research and development teams but also happy building strong relationships with commercial teams? Within our organisation, the Key Account Manager / Business Development Manager / Technical Sales Manager is responsible for working alongside our prestigious customer base to deliver engineering solutions for fluid handling systems.
This is very much a technical role which will require a formal qualification in a mechanical engineering subject and the ability to work with customers’ design, development, testing, quality and projects. Whilst commercial and pricing matters do come into play, the focus is on providing the best possible engineered solution.
About the role :-
You will work with assigned UK customers and market segments to profitably grow our category share-of-spend and at the same time, realise growth opportunities with new customers. Depending on your capabilities, you will support customers in the UK and internationally.
You will be the liaison between the customer and the Goodridge Engineering team, ensuring that customers future requirements are understood and providing professional engineering advice, support and collaboration. You will build relationships with customer influencers and decision makers, across their engineering, supply chain, quality, and procurement function to:
· Become involved in new projects at the earliest possible stage, understanding customer challenges and points of pain, to be in the strongest position to develop winning and profitable value propositions at time of quotation or RFQ.
· Actively engage our engineering, and operational teams in customer discussions to enhance customer perception of Goodridge as a strong engineering and delivery partner.
· Identify opportunities to develop added-value technologies, products, and services for existing and new customers.
· Realise opportunities to utilise our customer relationship and product offering in external and internal marketing.
· Ensure that our internal stakeholders are aware of changing technological, market, and customer requirements, ensuring that they are recorded and shared efficiently.
· Follow a structured sales process including lead qualification, quotation and RFQ response, negotiation, and conversion of opportunities.
· Lead team meetings to review and manage the quotation and RFQ processes and customer requirements within the wider Goodridge team.
· Ensure that our CRM data is kept up to date with full contact details, correspondence, and visit reports.
· Provide and support the preparation of accurate sales forecasts and trends for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis.
· Identify improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement activities to build efficiency and effectiveness within our business.
Key Deliverables :-
· Strong short- to long-term pipeline of new business opportunities, aligned to our customer, product / service offering, and profitability strategy.
· Profitable growth in category share of spend with existing customers.
· Profitable growth with new customers.
· Quantified opportunities for our development of new products and services.
· Customer perception of Goodridge as a strong engineering and delivery partner.
