Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Year 6 pupil, providing one-on-one support to facilitate their successful reintegration into mainstream school.
- Assist the pupil with their academic studies, including helping them catch up on missed work, reinforcing learning concepts, and providing additional support as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where the pupil feels supported, valued, and motivated to engage in learning activities.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized learning plans that address the pupil's specific needs and goals.
- Monitor the pupil's progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team and parents/guardians on their academic and social development.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support the pupil in making positive choices and managing challenges effectively.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth.
- Understanding of child development principles and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or child development are desirable but not essential.
