The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn are looking for an enthusiastic individual with proven experience, to take on an exciting job opportunity within the Ultrasound team as a Sonographer. This is an ideal opportunity to consolidate any existing skills, as well as the potential to learn new skills with help and support of trained Sonographers and Radiologists. You be responsible for independently undertaking examinations in obstetrics, transvaginal, gynaecology referrals, general abdominal, vascular, soft tissue, Musculo skeletal work, neck and paediatric hips scanning : scope will be within sonographers existing qualifications, however, support would be given to obtain additional qualifications if required for service delivery. You will work as an independent practitioner without direct clinician input and will provide written and verbal, clinical/ diagnostic reports, including suggestions for further patient management and are therefore, directly accountable for their actions. Scanning clinics will be in a variety of venues, including antenatal outpatients , radiology department , diagnostic assessment centre ( DAC) , North Cambs hospital site, wards, operating theatres and other off-site clinics as required. In addition, you will manage and deliver an effective ultrasound service to ensure a high standard of care for all patients under the post holder’s care. Organise an effective and efficient service. This requires knowledge and experience to plan and prioritise patient workload; one’s own section workload and training sessions. There is an expectation to manage a range of patients with differing demands including in-patients, geriatrics and paediatrics. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is West Norfolk has a superb unspoilt coastline with pretty villages, all with their own individual charm. The medieval port of King's Lynn has some very interesting architecture. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We work in partnership with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services. In February 2022 the QEH the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
