Director of Sport and Head of Academic PE

Salary: Depending on Experience

Location: Cheltenham

This is a permanent, full time vacancy.

 Dean Close School are looking to appoint a Director of Sport and Head of Academic PE, to start in September 2024. The Director of Sport at Dean Close will lead two important but distinct aspects of school life – a thriving academic department and a high-profile school sports and exercise provision.

We are fortunate to have first-class facilities to help us provide an excellent sporting experience for our pupils. All the facilities are on the school site and are used across the whole of the school community. 

The work of the department is led by a team of elite level specialist leaders of individual sports who work with the Common Room, a flexible team of coaches and Graduate Teaching Assistants.

These spring from the origins of Dean Close School, which was founded in 1886 in memory of Dean Francis Close, Rector of Cheltenham and educational philanthropist.
