Job description

We're looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our sports team and be part of an ever growing department. The chance to work with leading fashion sports brands such as Nike, Adidas and New Balance to bring the most trend lead and exciting new products to our customers

The Assistant Merchandiser will be responsible for the daily trading of sports brands to maximise sales opportunities, taking ownership of stock allocation and supporting planning future ranges

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and analyse daily and weekly reporting at department, brand and store level with the ability to identify opportunities and risk in trade
• Allocation of product and regular stock replenishment to ensure we have the right product in the right place at the right time
• Trade the brands: manage and forecast never out of stock lines, suggest repeat orders and support the team with markdown strategies
• Work closely with our stores to ensure we maximise sales potential and avoid overstock issues. Focusing on flagships and new stores
• Manage intake and outstanding orders to ensure optimal stock flow and accurate commitment data is available
• Attend and participate in weekly trade meetings with the buying team and directors
• Train and develop the Allocators to assist them achieving their objectives
• Support the Junior Merchandiser with planning the department
• Build relationships with the merchandisers and buying team to plan future ranges
• Ad hoc analysis on new stores and launch product

What we are looking for:

• At least 1 year's experience in entry-level merchandising (or similar) in a retail business
• Analytical mindset and comfortable working with large data sets
• Commercial and strategic thinker
• Intermediate Excel skills and knowledge of reporting tools
• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, driven team
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to build relationships
• Interest in fashion and trends is desirable
