Job description

Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end of life care for people living with an advanced or terminal illness. Based in Farnham Camberley and Guildford, we serve a population of 550,000 across West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

Fixed Term Specialty Doctors (4 months)

24 hours a week

Salary £31,518 - £49,440 per annum (dependant on experience)

WTE £52,530 - £82,400 based on 40 hours

Locations: Farnham, Guildford and the Inpatient unit in Camberley

Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint two part-time specialty doctors in palliative medicine.

The post has been created to provide backfill for the palliative medicine specialist registrar rotation in internal medicine. The work is predominantly based in the community with a one in seven double day weekend on call duty that supports both the inpatient unit and Community team.

This post would suit a doctor wishing to increase their Palliative Medicine knowledge such as a GP. Prior experience of community medicine and/or palliative medicine is essential given the short duration of the post. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction and be supported educationally.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
• Good computer skills and be willing to learn
• Effective time management and organisational skills, with an attention to detail
