Volunteer Prison Recovery Support

Change Grow Live

Location

Wandsworth, Greater London | United Kingdom

Job description

Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference.

As a Volunteer Prison Recovery Worker with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be.

With this role you’ll be working as part of the Pathways to Recovery team, based in HMP Wandsworth.

The team supports people in custody with drug and/or alcohol issues.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.

This is what one of our Volunteer Recovery Co-ordinators had to say: I felt very appreciated for the year of volunteering that I’ve done that made me proud to be part of a very supportive team that values my time and efforts. I would definitely recommend CGL to any future volunteers.”

Our values are to be compassionate, open and bold. If this sounds like you we’d love to hear from you so click apply.

Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
