Morrison Water Services are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to work on our Welsh Water contract. The contract currently delivers high standards of Health & Safety and is looking to enhance and develop the delivery and culture. Due to increasing workloads and expansion of delivery type we need to enhance the SHEQ delivery even further.
Reporting directly to the Senior SHEQ Manager, you will lead the delivery of SHEQ objectives and compliance with company and Welsh Water (DCWW) established specifications and procedures. You will be able to utilise your knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture within the contract. Ensuring that all personnel (direct and sub-contractor) comply with safety legislation and policies, procedures and practices.
You must be able to plan, implement, monitor and review protective and preventative safety measures, while working with all stakeholders. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally. You must be able to engage our field teams, in operating safely, and deliver safety improvements that are lead from the front line.
As SHEQ Manager you would actively collaborate in all contract SHEQ geographical areas to assist with fulfilment of SHEQ team objectives. You will provide assistance and guidance to operational and management teams, and the client, on SHEQ performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
You will be able to provide accurate, current HSE advice. Support the contract to ensure adherence to company/client requirements, regulatory standards, and current legislation. You will review and assist in the production of quality and relevant operational documentation such as RAMS, CPP, SSOW. Consider how risks could be reduced and advising on a range of key activities such as safe digging practices, excavation, confined spaces, work at height, occupational health, COSHH etc.
You will undertake inspections/audits of operational sites. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and that contract processes are being properly implemented (out of hours whenever necessary). Provide effective analysis to aid relevant feedback and coaching. You will prioritise, investigate and report on all accidents and incidents. Defining root causes and ensure actions are completed to prevent re-occurrence and ensuring that learning points are fed into SHEQ directorate for continued improvement of policy, standards etc.
You will monitor and develop the SHEQ culture by driving our continuous improvement strategy programme. Identifying ways of ensuring all personnel are aware of the programme and are actively engaged.
You will support SHEQ programmes and undertake other SHEQ duties as reasonably required to cover staffing needs. Provide support and guidance to the SHEQ Advisors and other members of the SHEQ team. Undertake any other duties reasonably requested to meet team and company objectives.
Do you hold an ISOH Diploma or NEBOSH General/Construction certificate or NCRQ level 3 certificate? This will be essential for this role.
Have you gained experience of working in a CDM environment? This is essential to be considered for this role.
Experience with Deep Excavations, Mobile Plant and Lifting Operations is desirable
Do you have a strong background working within the Utility / Water sector?
Can you lead Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing campaigns?
