Job Description
The key responsibilities for this Finance Manager role:
- Cash Management - To complete the monthly cash flow reports ,oversee cash monitoring and investment activities. approve and review all deposits and cash withdrawals , review and approve all bank and credit card reconciliations
- To oversee and monitor use of the payroll system.
- To undertake a thorough review of the monthly payroll prior to approval, ensuring all staff are paid accurately.
- To produce the annual pay statements for staff.
- To deal with any salary and payroll queries.
- To manage the day-to-day operation of the Finance Team, including overseeing ordering, payment processes, cash-flow, contract management, financial systems, etc.
- To provide financial advice and support, and act as a critical friend to all departments.
- To ensure financial controls are in place and adhered to, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- To assist with creation and amendments to relevant financial policies.
- To actively seek opportunities for enhanced income generation and grant applications and cost savings throughout the school and make suitable recommendations to the Director of Finance & Operations.
- To assist with financial returns to external bodies, including ESFA, HMRC, TPS, LGPS, and responding to any resulting queries.
- Various other finance ad-hoc tasks
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for this Finance Manager role will be someone who:
- Is a hard working and driven individual
- Is comfortable working within a close team but also on their own
- Has thorough experience within a finance role
- Has previous accounts based work
- Has exposure to wider finance teams
- Has exposure in management of staff
- Has relevant experience (education is preferable but not necessary)
