Job description
Leonardo is looking for a Senior Market Analyst to join the collaborative Studies and Research Team creating market insight for the Electronics UK Division. We look to forecast and monitor the markets looking for trends to drive business growth whilst tracking the competition to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the market. This is a hybrid work environment role.

This position is for the Leonardo Electronics UK Division, which provides systems and sensors for platforms across multiple domains. The Studies and Research Team is looking for a candidate with a keen interest in Aerospace and Defence and an inquisitive nature with experience in market and competitor analysis.
What you will do
- Provide actionable overall market and customer insights to address key strategic questions
- Produce forecasts for related and adjacent markets, including segmentation, market share and route to market analysis
- Source datasets for new and ongoing strategic studies, engaging in data exploration to respond to novel research questions
- Responsible for tracking, reporting and analysing the performance of companies within the market
- Lead ad-hoc analytic requests and development /automation of regular reports
- Analysis of external and internal market data from multiple data sources within statistical and analytical tools
- Devise qualitative analytical techniques to determine market insight featuring Trends and Drivers
- Build relationships and contacts within the defence community to establish a network of resources
What we require from you
- Proficient in Market Research and statistical analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of business acumen
- Strong organisational, communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability in handling concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to network and establish an informal group of contacts
- A Master’s Degree or working experience in market research, statistical or data analysis in relevant field
- Previous experience in defence industry or armed forces preferred
- Experience in advanced analytic and statistical techniques
- Experience in building and automating management level reporting
- Prior experience extracting, cleansing and analysing large, heterogeneous datasets using data processing and visualisation tools
- Mastery of the following analytical tools – modelling and reporting in Power Query and/or Talend
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Extensive experience with visualisation tools and dashboards
